Karwar: "Jayashri Moger, who is a Zilla Panchayat President, should be expelled from the post for presenting a fake certificate claiming herself belonging to the backward caste in the Moger community", stated Uttara Kannada district Dalit Sangharsh Samiti President Deepak Kudalkar.

He was speaking at a press release called here at District Press Bhavan in Karwar on Tuesday. He alleged that, Jayashri Moger, by issuing a fake certificate of belonging to the backward caste, has obtained all economical facilities which are accessible only for backward castes including Dalits. Uttara Kannada Zilla Panchayat President Jayashri Moger is not from the backward castes. She is wasting the time of the Supreme Court to prove her false certificate. She should be expelled immediately from the post. The Moger community should not be issued with the backward caste certificate at any cost. If this continues, then a massive protest will be launched soon by the Dalit community.

It should be recalled that, Jayashri Moger, hailing from Bhatkal, was issued a backward caste certificate by the Tahsildar, on the basis of which she was elected as the Zilla Panchayat President. The matter has been running in the courts since then. It was also recently decided by the Taluka administration to revoke this certificate. But Jayashri Moger took the matter to the Supreme Court, for which she is still holding the post. But Dalit community is continuously demanding for her dismissal from the post.

In the press meet, Dalit leader Kharav Mangre, Dundappa Bandivaddar, and Sachin Borker were present.
