Karwar: Deputy Commissioner K Harishkumar said, obtaining permission for installing Ganesh idols in public places is mandatory.

Speaking at a video conference with various officials held at his office here Wednesday, he instructed the officials concerned to give permission for installing Ganesh idols by directing the Ganesh Mandals to follow the guidelines issued by the State
Government.

Nodal officers should be appointed to monitor the celebrations, he instructed.

He instructed that undertaking should be obtained from a representative of every Ganesh Mandal to follow the guidelines.

If the guidelines are violated, the representative should be held responsible, he told the officials.
