Karwar: For assaulting a person with knife and threatening to kill him, the accused was sentenced by the court to 2 years rigorous imprisonment, one and a half year of normal imprisonment and a penalty of Rs. 13,000.
Ganesh Ganapathi Gowda is the accused, who was arrested in 2015 for assaulting Shannon D’souza and threatening to kill him. He was sentenced by the court on 19th August, Saturday.
The investigation regarding this case was done by sub inspector Govindaraj Dasri and charge-sheet was filed by him in the court. The CJM court judge Shivakumar B sentenced Ganesh after the hearing of the case.
The court has ordered the accused to pay Rs. 10,000 of the penalty amount to the victim Shannon D’souza.
