Udupi: In order to bring zero tolerance and make the state drug mafia free, DGP Praveen Sood on Tuesday said the state government has given police open and free hand for investigation and to punish the guilty.

Speaking to newspersons here, he said Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa and Home Minister Basavaraj Bommai has entrusted the drug mafia case to police department. During the last 10 days, the police department has raided several places across the state and arrested several persons, besides seizing ganja worth crores of rupees.

He said he had already instructed all IGPs, SP and other officials to conduct raids by roads, sea or airways and serious action should be taken against the guilty.
