Mangaluru: A jewellery shopon Bhavanthi Street in the heart of the city was burgledby unidentified miscreants, who made a hole in the wall to get into the shop.

According to police, the incident came to light on Tuesday morning, when the shop was opened.

Gold and jewellery, belonging to Anil Shet, was kept at the shop from Sunday noon on account of Ganesh Chaturthi. Police added the total value of the burgled goods was yet to be calculated, since the owner was away. A police dog squad and fingerprint experts visited the spot. The police are also checking nearby CCTVs for vital clues.

A case has been registered at the Mangaluru North police station in this regard.
