Bangaluru: The Congress accused the PMO (Prime Minister’s Office) of pressuring the IT Department to reopen the case pertaining to ‘Govindaraj Diary’ and dared the Centre to investigate the closed case on 26th Feb Sunday.
AICC general secretary, Digvijaya Singh fired questions at the Centre regarding the case. "Why no action was taken for 11 months? Why did you (the Centre) remain quiet?”. He also said that the BJP leaders are in power and both ED and IT Departments are under their control.
He also told the reporters, his opinion over this case, which has details of some senior ministers from Karnataka having paid huge sums of money to the Congress High Command.
Singh said that the diary was a fake one and the person who was believed to have maintained it, K Govindaraj (KPCC Treasurer), denied it. Singh also claims that the diary was planted by IT Department. He wants the Centre to send the details mentioned in diary forensic science laboratory and take up the investigation.
Singh seeks response from state BJP president B S Yeddyurappa and Union minister Ananth Kumar, in regard to the charges against BJP MLC Lahar Singh for paying huge sums of money to party high command, including to the then Chief Minister of Gujrat, Narendra Modi, in 2013.
