Bhatkal: One Bhatkali woman succumbed to her injuries at Al Gaviyah hospital, 170km from Saudi capital Riyadh today, Tuesday.

The deceased has been identified as Bibi Khatija (40) w/o Shuwaib Shabandari.

Bibi Khatija and other family members were returning to Dammam after performing Umrah at Makkah. The car in which they were travelling toppled down on Saturday 24th June injuring Bibi Khatija and her relative Khalid Shabandari. The condition of Khatija was said to be very critical and hence she breathed her last today, Tuesday. 

Her husband Shuwaib works in Dammam, and had joined her in Makkah to perform Umrah.

It is said that injured Khalid is recovering and has been discharged from the hospital.

In total 8 members were travelling in the car including Bibi Khatija, her husband Shuwaib, Shuwaib sister Shayiqa, relative Khalid Shabandari, his wife Shakira, daughters Maryam, Fathima and son Ahmed.
 
All other members were safe in the accident.

The car was driven by Shuwaib Shabandari. Deceased Khatija has 4 children including 3 daughters.
