Bhatkal: The Indian Coast Guard has rescued 25 Bhatkal fishermen, who were stranded on boat in the midst of rough seas, on Friday.

ICG ship from Mangaluru, which was on operational deployment in Arabian sea, received a distress call from an Indian fishing boat ''Qamrul Bahar'' on Thursday and immediately diverted its course for undertaking the rescue operations.

According to the fishermen, their boat had got technical glitches and couldn't started in rough weather and due to strong winds and swell.

The ICG ship towed the crippled fishing boat to a safe location near the Arabian coast in Uttara Kannada.

Around 10.00 AM on Friday, the fishermen were safely shifted to Coast ship.
