Sirsi: Police recently arrested a fraudster who posed as COD inspector and 'inspected' various medical laboratories including Shantika Lab in Sirsi recently.

The accused identified as Lakshmikanth Eshwar Naik (32) of Kangod in Sirsi taluk was arrested and produced before the court. Police said that Naik, wearing police uniform, visited various labs in Sirsi on September 16. He claimed before the lab authorities that he was COD officer Mahesh from Karwar and took photographs of the documents related to the labs. 

However, his visit got recorded in CCTV cameras and police successfully nabbed him. Hunt is on to trace the other accused.
