Udupi: Deputy Commissioner G Jagadeesh warned of taking strict action against those who illegally store and extract sand in the district.

Sand extraction in the CRZ area and non-CRZ area and removal of silt from Baje dam has begun.

Sand is being supplied to different parts of the district, Jagadeesha noted. 

“If people are found transporting and extracting sand illegally, then officials will initiate strict against them. If illegal sand extraction and transportation offences are repeated, then measures will be taken to direct the authorities to book them under the Goonda Act,” he warned.
