Karwar: The city municipal authorities on 14th September, Thursday morning evacuated the illegal buildings located at Pikle road and Green street in Karwar.

Municipal commissioner Yogeshwar and his staff had operated in the early morning and held the clearance of unlicensed buildings. 

The place reserved for parking the vehicles in Pikle road was packed with the construction of HDFC bank ATM, a hotel by the name 'Taj fast food' was being constructed on the footpath in Green street and another building located at Dhobighat road were evacuated.

Speaking to media, city municipal commissioner Yogeshwar, said, "Notice was being issued to the respective owners of the buildings, which were constructed illegally". Though the notice was not responded in a given period of time, the evacuating drive was conducted today, he added.
