Karwar: Police have arrested two individuals from Telangana in connection to the body of an unidentified woman recovered nearly six months ago from Kudle Beach at Gokarna.

Gokarna police had registered a case of suspected murder after the body was found on January 21. Police identified the victim as Vijayalakshmi from Telangana in the course of their investigation. Further investigation revealed that she had been killed by her husband, Suresh Ramalu Bandla (27) and his friend Kumar Bhikshapati (27).

Vijayalakshmi was Suresh's second wife and the two had married in a secret ceremony. Pressure from Vijayalakshmi to make the marriage public is believed to have motivated Suresh to kill her. Along with Kumar, Suresh brought Vijayalakshmi to Gokarna where she was strangled before being subsequently thrown off a boulder, said police officials.
