Karwar: Home Minister inaugurates various Police department initiatives

Karwar: Karnataka Home Minister Dr. G. Parameshwar inaugurated multiple initiatives under the Police Department on Wednesday at the District Superintendent of Police's office premises. These included the induction of 20 new vehicles purchased at a cost of Rs. 3 crore under the local area development fund of the district’s legislators.

Additionally, the District Superintendent of Police's office has undergone renovations worth Rs. 1.15 crore. The minister inaugurated several new facilities, including the District Police Technical Training Center, Cyber and Economic Crimes Unit, Narcotics Control Police Station, Call Data Record (CDR) Division, Trinetra Social Media Surveillance Center, Video Conferencing Hall, and Computer Training Center.

Following the inauguration, the minister also formally launched the new Traffic Police Station in Sirsi. The district police unit released awareness videos on narcotics and cybercrime to educate the public about these growing threats.

The event was attended by Fisheries, Ports, and Inland Water Transport Minister and District In-Charge Minister Mankal S. Vaidya, Karnataka State Marketing Consultant and Agency President Satish K. Sail, MLAs Shivaram Hebbar and Bhimanna Naik, District Guarantee Scheme Implementation Authority President Satish Naik, Western Range Inspector General of Police Amit Singh, Deputy Commissioner K. Lakshmi Priya, Zilla Panchayat CEO Ishwar Kandu, District Superintendent of Police M. Narayan, Additional Superintendent of Police Krishnamurthy, and several other dignitaries and officials.
