Hundreds of Muslims protest against CAA & NRC in Kumta

Kumta: Hundreds of Muslims led by Jamaat Ul Muslimeen Kumta on Friday protested against the 'Citizenship Amendment Act' and 'National Register of Citizens' here near Assistant Commissioner office in Kumta.

Soon after the Friday prayers, hundreds of them gathered outside Assistant Commissioner office and chanted 'Azadi' slogans. They also waved the national flag. 

The memorandum which was addressed to Chief Justice of India S A Bobde was submitted through Kumta Assistant Commissioner. On this occasion, Ideal education trust President Basti Muhammad Malik Saheb read out the memorandum.

In the protest, Jamaat Ul Muslimeen Kumta President Muhammad Shafi Shaikh, General Secretary Muhammad Mohsin Quazi, Kumta Muslim Association President Muhammad Akbar Mulla, vice-president Abdul Shukur Shaikh, Vanalli Jamaat Ul Muslimeen leader Abusaleha Mulla, Ibrahim Shaikh, Ali Shah Satodikar, North Kanara Muslim forum Kumta unit Secretary Ali Damkar and many others were present.
