Honnavar: To de-stress overburdened teachers, the state government will not conduct any more training for teachers, said Primary and Secondary Education Minister S Suresh kumar.
It is a good news for primary and high school teachers as they will not be working overtime in connection with training or workshop as the minister directed the department to keep them unoccupied at least until examinations are over.
Speaking to reporters after interacting with students of New English School at Honnavar on Saturday, the minister said he had communicated the same to the department.
‘’I understand their problems. If we need to provide quality education and prepare students for examinations, we should ensure that teachers are not overburdened. Considering this, I have strictly instructed the department to ensure that they are free, he said.
He said the department has come out with a module to reduce the burden on students with a thrust on enhancing knowledge. we have started several programmes like week-end quiz in science, history and mathematics. The quiz on mathematics will be called as ‘Karun Barnegat Shatadpathi’.
He also interacted with students of historical New English School which was established in 1920. He advised students not to be scared of examinations.
