Honnavar: Body of student who went missing after drowning in river recovered

Honnavar: The body of a 15-year-old boy who went missing after drowning in the Saralgi river in Honnavar taluk on Wednesday afternoon has been recovered from the same river today on Thursday afternoon.

It may be recalled that a boy named Prajwal Gopal had drowned and disappeared while swimming in the Saralgi river. Immediately after the incident, with the help of police and expert swimmers, the locals launched a search operation, but the boy was not found until the evening. His body was however recovered this afternoon.

The body has been taken to Honnavar Government Hospital for autopsy and will be handed over to the family after necessary procedures.

A case has been registered in this regard at Honnavar Police Station.
