Mangaluru: A commission led by the state BJP president B S Yeddyurappa on 17th July, met the Union home minister Rajnath Singh at New Delhi urging him to order a probe by National Investigation Agency (NIA) into the 24 unresolved politically motivated murders in Karnataka including the recent murder of RSS activist Sharath Madiwala.

The delegation was comprised of BJP leaders, MPs Nalin Kumar Kateel, Shobha Karandlaje and Union Minister D V Sadananda Gowda.

According to the sources, they also urged the home minister through a memorandum to ban organizations like Karnataka for Democracy, Popular Front of India and some other Muslim outfits.

Addressing the media, Yeddyurappa alleged that the state government, has been shielding the killers instead of booking them.

He further added, “In all the cases, Hindu activists were killed in the same manner. There is suspicion that the killers were provided with special training”.

He stated that the Union minister has assured that the Sharath Madiwala murder case investigation would be entrusted to NIA.
