Mangaluru: Highland Islamic Forum (HIF) on Sunday, 24th February organised a blood donation camp at Masjid-ul-Ehsan, in which a total of 175 blood units were collected.

Dr. Ranjitha Rao, assistant professor of Pathology and Blood bank officer, along with Maulana Althaf, Imam of Masjid Ul Ehsaan; Abdul Matheen, principal of Al Qalam Arabic Academy; and Sajid AK, president of Highland Islamic Forum were among the guests in the camp.

Addressing on the occasion, Dr. Ranjitha Rao, explained the use of donating blood. She also highlighted the health benefits of the blood donation for the donor.

The event began with the recitation of Holy Quran by Bilal Raif followed by the blood donation camp’s inauguration. Pradeep Kumar, a resident of Mangaluru was the first donor of the camp.

It is to be noted that HIF is conducting Blood donation camp for every six months at Masjid Ul Ehsaan, which is seen beneficial for all communities in Mangaluru and neighboring cities.
