Sirsi: The news that Union Minister of State Ananthkumar Hegde had allegedly assaulted the local manager of a company has been doing rounds in the town.

The minister, on Sunday, had invited the local manager of Bajaj Electronic company, which had bagged the contract of electrifying Bazar Kunang gram panchayat in Joida taluk under the Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Gram Jyoti Yojana, but was delaying the work. While discussing the issue, the minister lost cool and the minister allegedly assaulted the company manager. Surprisingly, the minister later took him to the hospital for treatment. 

It is also being said that the man who was assaulted was summoned to the police station for enquiry. But no police complaint has been lodged in this connection.

When  contacted DySP Gopalkrishna Nayak, the police officer said that the local manager of Bajaj company had been enquired. But, he (manager) said that he had not been assaulted and that he had received injuries as he slipped and fell down. It can be recalled the minister had assaulted a doctor at a local hospital a few months back.
