Karwar: Following heavy rains in Uttara Kannada district, low lying areas in coastal taluks inundated on Saturday and Sunday. Nadibag, Poojageri, Baleguli and other villages at Ankola taluk inundated on Saturday. Deputy Commissioner Harish Kumar K and other officials visited these villages on Sunday morning. Many villages near Gokarna were also submerged following heavy rain on Sunday. The DC has ordered the IRB construction company, which was taken four laning work of NH-66, to make proper channels beside the highways so that no rainwater can create road blocks or landslides on highways.
