Bhatkal: The heavy rains continue to lash the city of Bhatkal since couple of days, while the downpour between Tuesday night to Wednesday evening hit normal life in the region. 

Reports informed that a compound wall of a house located in Bunder road 5th cross collapsed due to rain, which caused damage to a bike and bicycle which were parked nearby.

It is said that a major tragedy was averted as the wall which collapsed fell on the opposite side of the swimming pool which was very near to the compound wall. The swimming pool had a number of youth playing in it at the time of the incident. The damaged bike and a bicycle are said to be of those youth who had been for swimming.

According to Bhatkal Metrology department, Bhatkal has recorded around 62.4 mm of rainfall from Tuesday 8AM to Wednesday 8 AM.
