Haliyal: A village accountant was caught red-handed by the Anti-corruption Bureau (ACB) sleuths while he was receiving a bribe from a farmer in the taluk office premises in Haliyal.
Village accountant Girish Hanumanth Randev of Tatvanagi village in Murkwad hobli was caught when he was accepting Rs 3,000 as bribe from farmer Bheemrao Rayappa Kurubar of the same village in connection with officially transferring the 8 acres 17 gunta land from Rayappa Kurubar's (as he died) name to Bheemrao's name who is his legal heir.
Bheemrao Rayappa Kurubar had lodged a complaint with ACB and acting on it, ACB sleuths trapped the village accountant.
