Mangaluru: The Bantwal police have arrested a goldsmith - who had stolen 274 grams gold ornaments from a jewellers' shop where he was working, at B C Road in Bantwal.
According to the police, the arrested is Pintorawath, who was working as a goldsmith with Apoorva Jewellers. The police have recovered 229 grams gold ornaments worth Rs 5 lakh from the goldsmith.
On June 6, he had gone to drink tea and did not return. On checking the ornaments, the owner found 274 gram ornaments missing. The police arrested the accused at Khanakul in West Bengal.
