Traffic affected after gas leakage detected at Karnataka-Kerala border

Mangaluru: The traffic movement in Talapady region coming under Karnataka limits was affected after a gas leakage was detected from a parked tanker near RTO office in Kerala's Talapady region in the border area of Karnataka-Kerala on Wednesday.

A gas leakage in a spray like pattern was detected from a parked tanker which was about to move Kasargod from Mangaluru. Soon Manjeshwar police personnel along with Fire brigade team rushed to the spot and conducted the necessary safety precautions.

The traffic from either sides of the border was affected. Vehicles coming from Kasargod were diverted from Tuminadu towards Talapady. Power was also kept shut. Heavy police deployment was done at the incident spot for safety. The shops nearby the tanker was made to close as the chances of accident was more.
