Bhatkal: A free dental treatment camp was held at Al-Afrah Hall in Bunder road in the town on 24th September, Sunday for dental treatment and awareness. Many locals participated in the camp.

It was jointly organized by expert dentist team from Yenepoya Hospital Mangaluru and Dr. Nazia Saifullah Shahbandari, neice of well known leader Inayatullah Shahbandari.

More than 500 people had registered their names for the camp prior to the date and seeing this, around 50 doctors from Yenepoya Hospital arrived for the camp and rendered their services.

The camp began at 9:00 am in the morning and a stage programme was held at 11:00 am, where the chief guest of the programme and HOD of Yenepoya hospital, Suresh Kumar addressed the people about keeping their teeth clean and prevention of dental diseases.

Addressing the students, he took a covenant that they will stay away from any harmful tobacco byproducts, alcohol and cigarettes. He told them to wash hands before eating and clean the mouth after finishing the meal. He also told them to regularly brush their teeth and keep them healthy.

“If you have any queries regarding any dental problems then you can contact me or get treated at Yenepoya hospital Mangaluru with the help of expert dentists and equipment”, said Nazia Shahbandari while addressing at the programme.

She further assured the people that if they receive support and cooperation from the public then such camp will be organized on monthly basis by ‘Team Yenepoya’.

Dr. Dhanish Naik, Inayatullah Shahbandari and Tanzeem member Mr. Abdul Damudhi also expressed their views on this occasion.

Even during the end of the programme in afternoon, a lots of people were present at the camp waiting for their turn.
