4 killed, 1 hurt as Tanker crashes car on Ankola NH66

Ankola: Four persons died, while one sustained severe injuries after the car in which they were traveling was crashed by the speeding truck near Harawada NH66 in Ankola on Wednesday evening. 

The deceased has been identified as Ramesh Krishnappa (30), Prabhavati Chikkegouda (30) and Vinay Venkataramanappa (39), residents of Bengaluru, and Meena alias Meenakshi (30), a resident of Doddaballapur, near Bangalore.

The mishap happened when the tanker was overtaking the vehicle, during which the car coming from the opposite direction had an head-on collision. The force of impact was such horrific that the car was dragged to around 100 meters of stretch from the spot of collision. This claimed four persons life, with three being killed on the spot and one succumbed in Karwar hospital.

A girl in the car has said to be injured who has been rushed to Karwar district hospital for treatment. 

Ankola police rushed to the spot and conducted the necessary investigation.
