Kumta/Haliyal: Maulana Abdul Hai Fakhruddin Patel Saheb, former Imam and Khateeb of Kumta Jamia Masjid passed away at his native place Haliyal at the age of 88 on Thursday morning, 17th October. The funeral prayers took place in Haliyal after Isha prayers.

Maulana Abdul Hai served as Imam and Khateeb at Kumta Jamia Masjid for more than 22 years. He then moved to his native town Haliyal and served as Imam at Kakargalli Masjid for around 10 years. 

On his sad demise, the office bearers and members of Kumta Jamaat Ul Muslimeen expressed their deep condolence. A delegation of Kumta Jamaat Ul Muslimeen also attended the funerals to pay last respect. 

Former district In-Charge Minister RV Deshpande too expressed his condolence.
