Karwar: Fishermen of district should not break the rules framed by officials while fishing. The necessary action will be taken against those who will break the rules, warned the Coastguard Karwar Centre’s Commander M K Sharma.

We are taking rounds entire day for the sake of protection and security in coastal area, and checking the fishermen and their boats. Most of the fishermen are not carrying their license and identity card, Sharma informed.

He also said owners of boats have crossed rules by carrying more number of labourers then restricted limit. It has become necessary to take safety measures as chances of illegal entry of boats of foreigners through sea. So, fishermen should co-operate with us. We have conducted awareness programs among fishermen by organising interraction programmes.
