Karwar: An atmosphere of fear triggered among the residents of Lingnayakavad in Karwar on Sunday late night, 27th October, after fire engulfed on a transformer due to technical issues.

Noticed this by the residents, immediately informed to the fire extinguishers, who rushed to the spot and were successful in extinguishing the fire. HESCOM officials too rush to the spot. A loss of around 1.7 lakh rupees has been estimated due to the incident.

According to residents, the rise of flame went for 6 to 7 metres height creating panic among the residents. The branches of the nearby tree were gutted due to fire. Luckily, there was no harm to the surrounding environment.

Following the incident, a transformer has been replaced.
