Mundgod: Farmer Ramanna Chalwadi of Nyasargi in Mundgod taluk committed suicide recently depressed over crop failure and repayment of the loan availed from the bank.

Ramanna, who was 65-years-old,  had availed Rs 1.6 lakh loan to grow banana. However, he did not get the yield and so, resorted to taking the extreme step, said the police complaint.

Mundgod police have registered a case.
