Ankola: In a heart-wrenching incident, an Ex-army man shot dead his own brother's wife and a son, killing both, here at their residence in Matakeri in Ankola on 27th July, Saturday evening.

According to reports, the deceased son-and-mother are Anuj (09) and Medha (40).

Sources informed that the accused, Ajay Prabhu, was inebriated at the time he conducted this hilarious act. It is also said that an argument broke out between Ajay and his brother Amit Prabhu in the evening, causing it to give an ugly turn.

On shooting, Anuj died on the spot, while Anuj's mother Medha had sustained critical injuries and was boarded to Manipal hospital in the ambulance. Unfortunately, she breathed her last on the way near Honnavar.

In this regard, a case stands registered at Ankola police station and further investigations are underway. The accused has been detained by the police.
