Karwar: The NPCIL, Kaiga, conducted a state level essay competition for the university students on the ‘role of nuclear power in development of our nation and safety aspects of nuclear plant design, construction and operation’. Competitions were held in Kannada, Hindi and English.

The first three prize winners would get Rs 15,000, Rs 10,000 and Rs 7,500 respectively, apart from citation. In all, 145 students from various institutions of Karnataka participated.

After evaluation by eminent resource persons, 13 students were selected for prizes.
