Bhatkal: The election officials on Wednesday, 3rd April, stopped Karnataka Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy's car in Bhatkal and inspected it as a part of routine checks ahead of Lok Sabha polls.

During the inspection, Kumaraswamy was seen seated inside the car and allowed the officials to check his SUV. After the inspection, Kumaraswamy was welcomed at Shamshuddin Circle, Bhatkal by Congress-JDS party workers in huge number.

It is to be noted that Kumaraswamy was travelling from Kundapur after attending fishermen’s convention there, and was on the way to Gokarna. He is expected to accompany Congress-JDS Lok Sabha candidate from Uttara Kannada constituency Anand Asnotikar tomorrow in filing the nomination papers in Karwar.

Karnataka will go to polls in two phases, 14 constituencies each, on April 18 and 23. Results will be announced on May 23.
