Bhatkal: A mentally disturbed driver of a gas tanker was ended his life by consuming poison inside his tanker on Thursday evening, 26th September. The incident happened on Hanifabad NH-66 in the town.

The deceased is identified as Vaasu Kariappa Naik (30), a resident of Tengingundi in Bhatkal taluk.

As the information was received, police personnel rushed to the spot and conducted the necessary investigation. The body was then sent for post mortem at Bhatkal government hospital. Police have seized two bottles of poison, found inside the truck.

The deceased is survived by a wife and two children. 

A case has been registered and further investigations underway.
