Diesel theft in Mangaluru; Four held

Mangaluru: The police have arrested four persons on the charges of theft of 900 litre of diesel from a tanker, near NMPT bus stand, in Panambur. 

The arrested are Premchandra Yadav, Nan Babu, Balawanth Kumar of Uttar Pradesh and Raj Kumar alias Lal of Madhya Pradesh.

The police seized a tanker worth Rs 40 lakh and diesel worth Rs 46,000 from the arrested.

3 trucks seized

The CCB sleuths on Saturday seized three trucks that were engaged in illegal transportation of sand to Kerala, at Padil.

According to DCP (Crime) Uma Prashanth, the trucks did not possess any permits to transport sand. The trucks were owned by Rahim and M A Shameer. The drivers are Riyaz, Rafiq and 
M A Shameer. The value of the sand and trucks is Rs 30 lakh. The seized property has been handed over to Mines and Geology department for further action.
