Karwar: CCTV cameras installed at Majali checkpost in the taluk are not functioning since last several months. This has resulted in a setback in keeping proper vigilance on the movement of supicious vehicles on this route.
The check-post in Karnataka-Goa boundary area is in the limits of Chittakula Police station.
Five years back, six CCTV cameras were installed here by the police department, to check illegal activities. A few years later, mines and geology department also installed two more CCTV cameras. Due to lack of maintenance, these cameras are defunct now.
