Karwar: Deputy Commissioner Mullai Muhilan instructed the officials concerned to initiate strict measures to implement the guidelines related to night and weekend curfew to contain the spreading of Covid-19.

Holding a video-conference with district and taluk-level officials here on Wednesday, he said, the government has issued some guidelines for night and weekend curfew. It is the responsibility of the officials concerned to implement the guidelines properly, he instructed.

He instructed the officials that fines should be imposed and cases should be registered against the persons who violate the Covid-19 guidelines.

A meeting of leaders of all religions and representatives of traders’ association, Vehicle Drivers’ Association, and other organisations should be called to discuss the importance of following the guidelines, he instructed.
