Karnataka Dalit Protection Forum submits memorandum against opening of liquor shop

Karwar: A memorandum was submitted by Karnataka Dalit Protection Forum (KDPF) activists to District Administration urging him not to give permission to open MSIL liquor shop at TDB Road, in Mundgod.

"The road is crowded with people. Taluk Hospital, Ayurveda Hospital, government offices, temple and church are on the same path. There will be trouble for public if liquor shop is allowed", says Committee State Convenor Chidanand Harijan.

There are already 6 liquor shops in the town and resumption of additional liquor shop is likely to affect local youths.

State Organising Secretary Chennabasappa Harijan, District unit president Elisha Yalakapati, Sirsi Taluk unit president Sudhakar Mirjanakar, Yellapur Taluk unit president Arjun Bengeri, Karwar Taluk unit president Yellappa Waddar, District convener Srikanth Naik and Ashok H. Waddar were president.
