Kumta: A shameful incident reported today here at Kumta as two persons in a bike who came with the intention of enquiring certain address, snatches a gold chain from women's neck and fled the scene within a fraction of seconds. The incident happened near Siddinabhavi in Kumta.

Sources say, two persons in a bike had stopped near a house and started to enquire about certain location with women belonging to that home. At this moment, the pillion of the bike snatched the gold chain from the women's neck and both the crooks escaped from the spot. 

The victim women is identified as Asha, a resident of Siddinabhavi. The house belonged to Nagesh Achar. Asha is the wife of Nagesh Achar.

As the rider was wearing the helmet, it was difficult to identify him. While the pillion rider was said to be in a white dress. 

A case has been registered in Kumta police station and investigations are carried on.
