Karwar: Re-amending the Corona Lockdown Guidelines in Uttara Kannada District, Deputy Commissioner Mullai Mugailin has issued a new circular stating that under the previous orders, Corona lockdown will continue in the district till June 7. Some important decisions have been taken under which there will be no relaxation for purchase of essentials on Fridays and Tuesdays, however, respite has been given in the remaining days.
According to a circular issued by DC, there will be a complete lockdown on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, i.e there will be no relaxation for essential purchases in the morning. However, on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 8 AM to 12 PM, the relaxation will be given for purchase of essentials. The DC said the decision was made in view of the increasing Corona patients in the district and for public safety. According to the circular, a complete ban on marriages will remain in place in the district. During the complete lockdown on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, only pharmacies and dairy shops will function.
Restrictions in the movement of vehicles will remain in place.
The circular said that the administration of the concerned talukas would create special containment zones depending on the situations in their regions. Wherever there is a possibility of overcrowding, we will try to reduce the overcrowding by putting a complete stop on vehicle movement through barricades. In this regard, the police department has been asked to take necessary action in enforcing the relevant orders.
It was clarified at the beginning of the circular that the orders issued earlier regarding the lockdown have been canceled and now these new orders will remain in force from 6 AM on May 28 to 6 AM on June 7. DC appealed the public to purchase essentials from the nearby shops anf avoid venturing outside.
