Mangaluru: Kuwait Airways flight with 114 NRI Indians finally landed at Mangaluru International airport in the early morning hours on Thursday, August 13.
The chartered flight from Kuwait was scheduled to take to the skies on June 22 but was cancelled after denied DGCA permission. However, the flight finally left Kuwait at 2150 hrs Indian time on Wednesday, August 12 after it got the clearance.
Al-Rashid concern had applied for the said flight on August 12 but at the last minute suspicion over getting the permission arose because of technical snags.
NRI based in Kuwait, Mohandas Kamath took this issue up with Arathi Krishna, former adviser of Indian Consulate at Kuwait. Arathi intervened in the issue, took up the issue with senior officials, and succeeded in getting the permission by 6 pm on August 12.
