Karwar: Uttara Kannada district recorded 32 fresh cases of Covid-19 on Monday, while the number of recoveries were almost three times of it. As many as 89 people were released from various hospitals taking the total number of recoveries to 1,025.
Among the fresh cases, the maximum were recorded in Haliyal and Dandeli taluks (21 cases).
Presently, there are 645 active cases in the district, and among them, 68 Covid patients are availing treatment in home isolation.
Talking to reporters regarding some asymptomatic Covid patients not getting admitted to Covid Care Centres, District In-charge Minister Shivaram Hebbar said, the facilities being provided for Covid patients in the district are good. Asymptomatic patients spreading the disease to others by showing carelessness was not right.
Meanwhile, a complaint has been lodged against 60 to 70 persons who prevented health workers from taking two Covid patients to the hospital on KEB Road in Karwar on Sunday. Revenue officials lodged the police complaint alleging that these people hindered the work of the health staff and threw norms like social distancing to wind while protesting.
