Udupi: The district on Sunday recorded one more fatality with a 54-year-old woman from Yellur in Udupi succumbing to the infection.

The district also registered 182 fresh positive cases and the total cases now stand at 4,674.

According to officials, a total of 33,378 samples have been tested so far and 2,696 cases have been discharged from the hospital after recovery.

As many as 29 persons suffering from the symptoms of Influenza-like Illness (ILI), Severe Acute Respiratory Infection (SARI) and Covid suspects have been admitted to isolation wards for observation. 

A total of 977 samples have been collected for testing. This includes 696 Covid suspects, 231 Covid contacts and 35 with the symptoms of ILI. As many as 1,943 infected are undergoing treatment in the district.

Among the fresh cases, Udupi taluk tops with 75 fresh cases. As many as 779 infected are in home isolation.
