Karwar: Uttara Kannada district recorded 83 new cases of Covid-19 on Thursday while 89 people who recovered from Covid walked out of the hospital. With this, the number of recoveries (705) exceeded the number of active cases (700).

Even on Thursday, Haliyal and Dandeli taluks recorded maximum number of
Covid cases (50 cases).

This was followed by Bhatkal (8), Sirsi (6), Yellapur (6), Karwar (5), Ankola (3), Mundgod (2), Siddapur (2), and Kumta (1).

As per the bulletin issued by the Health Department on Thursday, there is no clarity on source of infection of 52 patients, while 24 patients were those who came in contact with other patients.

While five people had ILI (fever) symptoms, two people had travel history to other country/State.

Until now, the district has recorded 1,418 cases, and 13 deaths due to Covid.
