Tanzeem express concern over viral video: The 178 passengers who arrived Bhatkal on a chartered flight from Dubai on July 7, have been quarantined in Bhatkal by Majlise Islah Wa Tanzeem, wherein 103 people are accommodated at Ali Public School, and 78 people at a private hotel. As per the guidelines of government, the 14-day official quarantine is mandatory for foreigners, and hence it was decided by Tanzeem in consultation with the District Administration that the throat swab samples of all the quarantined people will be taken on the ninth, tenth and eleventh day, and they will be sent home within 14 days if their reports are negative.
But on Friday, few people in quarantine had made a video viral claiming that no one was coming to the quarantine centre to take care of the people there, and it had been ten days since the swab samples hadn't taken for testing.
Expressing outrage over the viral video, General Secretary of Majlise Islah Wa Tanzeem, Maulvi Abdur Raqeeb MJ Nadvi, said, as per the pre-arranged plans, swab samples would be taken on the ninth, tenth and eleventh day and would be sent for Karwar laboratory for testing. Samples of 27 people out of 78 quarantined at a private hotel have been sent for testing on Friday. Similarly, samples will also be taken on Saturday and Sunday, and after completing 14 days of quarantine, they will be sent home. Abdur Raqeeb said that the people in quarantine have already been informed about this. In addition, three volunteers of Tanzeem, along with four school volunteers are always available in the quarantine centre every day to assist people there.
When SahilOnline correspondents reached Quarantine centre to enquire about the viral video, people in quarantine first of all rubbished the claims made in viral video. Instead, they lauded the efforts of Tanzeem for making excellent food arrangements, and also said that Tanzeem volunteers were available 24/7 at quarantine centre to assist people in any ways.
In this regard, Tanzeem Vice President Mr Atiqur Rahman Muniri, on studying the issue, reached Ali Public School and addressed the people in Quarantine, and also informed them about the efforts being made by Tanzeem, and he also tried to dispel the misconceptions within the people.
