Karwar: First case of novel Coronavirus has been confirmed in Ankola, while two more tested positive in Karwar, taking the tally of infected persons in Uttara Kannada district to 123.

According to sources, the throat swab samples from two persons were collected from the rural area of Ankola, two days ago. It is said that the victim had come with primary contacts with the infected person of Kumta few days ago.

The other two cases were confirmed from Karwar, and are said to be Maharashtra returnees.

With this, the active cases in the district jump to 30. It is also to be noted that among 123 cases, 93 have recovered, whereas 30 are undergoing treatment at KIMS, Karwar.
