Udupi: The containment zones in the district will be completely sealed, said Udupi Deputy Commissioner G Jagadeesha.
However, there are no restrictions for medical emergency services and the supply of essential commodities in the zones, the officer added.
To contain Covid-19, a few restrictions were imposed in the zones and a few had been relaxed outside the zones. The movement of people inside the containment zones has been banned, he said.
The Sunday lockdown will continue until July 31. However, there will be no restriction for the movement of goods vehicles supplying essential commodities.
Petrol bunks, pharmacies, labs, hospitals can remain open. The sealdown in borders of Udupi district has been lifted. However, the check-posts will remain at the borders he said and added that unnecessary entry of people to the district has been prohibited.
The officer urged people to wear masks in public places and maintain social distancing.
