Karwar: Congress party workers staged a protest at Sirsi on Friday condemning the decision of the high command to leave Uttara Kannada Lok Sabha segment to JD(S).

Angry party workers ransacked the party office and damaged the properties. They also vented their ire by burning tires. They demanded the district Congress president Bheemanna Naik to put pressure on the party leadership and get the ticket for Congress candidate. However, Naik did not give any assurance but said he would discuss with the leaders.

Meanwhile, Revenue Minister R V Deshpande, who is also not happy with the party’s decision, took to the social media platform to impress upon the leaders to review their decision.
