Bhatkal: The annual day celebration of the Green Valley National School and PU College, Shiroor was held on 4th January 2020, with colourful cultural and entertainment events here at Institute campus.
Present as the Chief guest at the event, Western Zone IGP, Arun Chakravarthi (IPS), addressing the gathering, praised the quality of education and the discipline of the children at Green Valley National School. He advised students to study the lives of people who have accomplished great things in the world. He further said that if students try to know about such people, then they will know that they have achieved great things at a young age. He urged the teachers to inculcate good morals in the children and work to promote brotherhood and national unity. Teach children to respect all religions. If teachers take care of these things, our country will grow better, he noted.
Director of General Service, MAHE, Manipal, Col. B Prakash Chandra, who was the guest of honour, speaking to the students, asked them to proceed with the goal by selecting any one of the fields. Mistakes encourage a person to move forward, as a person can learn from those mistakes. Life is not easy, there are ups and downs, solving them all to reach your destination is an ultimate reflection of efforts, he added.
Another guest of honour, Suma Nair, Professor, Kasturba Medical College, Manipal, addressing the event, said that the students should remember that time is ripe for development. Everything that happens today gets outdated for tomorrow. In these situations, it is to be emphasized that the students are aware of everything. She told the students that the teachers hold a place of honour and everyone should respect them.
School Head boy Muhammad Afzal welcomed the guests, followed with the welcome dance by small kids. On this occasion, various colourful events marking cultural and entertainment activities were showcased by the students. Prizes were distributed among students who won in sports and other competitions. Principal John Mathew read the annual report of the college. School head girl Mariam Inayatullah presented the vote of thanks. Shiroor Trust President Syed Hassan Saheb was also present on the occasion.
