Facing disapproval from women lawmakers for comparing himself to a rape survivor, Karnataka Assembly Speaker Ramesh Kumar Wednesday expunged his own remarks made in the House and sought pardon from them.
With his analogy Tuesday drawing criticism as being gender insensitive, the Speaker blamed the media for ‘hyping’ the issue “by adding masala” to his remarks.

Mangaluru will get a dedicated overnight express train to Bengaluru, to start with three days in a week, from February 21.
Dakshina Kannada MP Nalin Kumar Kateel would flag off the inaugural special, Mangaluru Central-Yeshwantpur tri-weekly express at 11 a.m., on that day at Mangaluru Central Railway Station.
